Rear Suspension Support

Towing or hauling a heavy load can cause rear sag as your factory suspension compresses under the weight of the load. This means that the rear axle is trying to support not only the extra load but also the weight of your vehicle. And because there is less weight on your front axle, your front tires make less contact with the road, which causes problems with traction, steering, and braking. SumoSprings upgrade your vehicle's factory suspension to level your vehicle, improve driving performance, and keep your ride comfortable.

Installed spring when it is not compressed

SumoSprings provide progressive load control - the more you load them, the stiffer they become. With a lighter load, the springs will compress easily for soft engagement and a less bumpy ride. The closed-cell urethane material allows for smooth contact between the springs and your vehicle. And the springs act like a shock absorber to dampen road vibration.

Installed spring when it is compressed

The springs can also compress by as much as 80 percent to support a heavy rear load and to help your factory suspension bear up under the load. This evens out the weight, which levels your vehicle and ensures that your front tires are making better contact with the road. A level ride means that you have improved driving control, ensures safe headlight aim, and helps to minimize sway. The springs also support your factory suspension, which helps prevent sagging and reduces bottoming out.

The springs work independently from one another to support each side of your vehicle. This action helps to reduce body roll when you make a sharp turn. This also helps compensate for an off-center load.

Durable, Custom-Fit Springs

These microcellular urethane springs are tough. They resist abrasion, oil, salt, and UV rays that can more quickly wear out other springs, and they perform well in temperatures ranging from -25 F to 200 F (-33 C to 93 C).

SumoSprings compress vertically with minimum expansion to the sides, so they won't be damaged by nearby mechanical parts and they fit safely into tighter spots. And unlike air springs, SumoSprings require no maintenance or adjustment.

The helper springs are custom designed to fit your vehicle, and they install easily - no drilling required.

Mercedes-Benz Sprinter

I added these along with the sumo springs on the front to my Dynamax isata 3 (2021 sprinter chassis). I absolutely love how it took away the sway while driving in wind. Did not effect the quality of the ride just greatly improved the handling.

by:

The SumoSprings Helper springs have too much clearance between the spring and the axle. Probably because I have helper springs on the rear axle which raises the Sprinter somewhat.

by:

I put Sumo springs on my 2018 Sunseeker 2400 WS with the MB chassis. They made a huge difference in stability and ride. No more rocking side to side also eliminating a slite shimmy at 65mph. I installed both front and rear, easy to do yourself.

by:

Installation was quite easy, the hardest part I had was finding the sweet spot to get the second one started! The first one went in just like the video showed. It took me about 45 minutes to 1 hour to put these in and some of that time was going to get tools.

by:
Mercedes-Benz

This set tightened up the suspension on my Mercedes motor home. Cornering is much better which helps the overall handling. I also replaced the sway bar.

by:

Quality product, great upgrade for the stock part. Installation video was spot on. Took less than 30 minutes to complete. Jamie was very helpful in determining the correct part and completing the order.

by:

Easy to replace existing bumpstops by using the jack of my 2015 Winnebago View to elevate each side (with safety jackstands). Take a large screwdriver to pry existing unit out. New unit easily slides innand seats properly. When coupled with matching SumoSprings for the front, the ride stability and quality is enhanced significantly! Well worth the investment!

easy install. definitely helped with the sway issues.

2017 Winnebago View Motorhome

I installed the rear sumo springs (with a little difficulty ) and test drove my 2017 Winnebago View and just adding the rears helped alot with reducing leaning on slow speed turns.
Will install front Sumos when I get a chance. Little room to work, access to to the nut is challenging.
etrailer delivered everything early and in perfect condition

The rig handles much better with the Sumo Springs , particularly on city streets. It corners sharply without the massive body roll and turning into sloped driveways , the rolling is greatly reduced. Very happy I added these to my Sprinter Chassis.

by:
2010 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter

Installed the black sumo only 2 wekks ago.Should have done that right after reception last year. Reduce sway totally when i leave my yard(3 inches bump). Don,t need stabilizator, floor is very solid and stable. On the road test for only 10 miles, there is a much better stability. I already have yellow sumo on front suspension where suspension was weak and direction instable.those problems have disapeared. Very satisfied client.

We are glad to hear that the new SumoSprings you purchased are working well for you. Please keep in mind that suspension enhancement products like these are intended for use on suspension systems that are in good working order.

by:

2017 Winnebago View 24G Sprinter Chassis: The rear Sumo Springs definitely reduced the tendency of the stock suspension of bottoming out on bumps & pot holes and was way less expensive and simpler than installing an airbag suspension kit.

Mercedes-Benz Sprinter

I have a 3500 Sprinter RV. Had the SumoSprings installed front and back for $135 at an independent RV service center that also handles RV's. They had never installed them before. I gave them the installation instructions and some advice I learned from some online videos. Sprinter is unloaded at present but notice it handles better going around turns and curves in that it doesn't lean as much and feels very stable. Need to take on a trip to see how it handles when loaded. I noticed a sort of squeakiness I am not sure was there before. I need to drive it more to determine it is from the SumoSprings.

by:
Mercedes-Benz Sprinter

I originally purchased these to use as a overload system for a motorcycle carrier on my class B sprinter van. What I quickly realized was a tremendous change in the stability of the vehicle in turns and crosswinds which the SumoSprings provided. I have already recommended them to several friends and sprinter owners I have met on the road. These were fairly easy to install taking about 20 minutes to install per side. Thanks

by:

Received shipment promptly- as usual with E Trailer. Removal of old bumper took 8 sec. each with a small pry. I jacked the frame up approx. 2 inches to allow for the clearance required by the new SumoSprings. I used a 6 ton bottle jack and a large wooden block. The rear wheels stayed in contact with the ground. The "springs slide into place as per the instructions. I used a wide blunt chisel to push them into place. Total time including collecting tools, taking photos, installation and cleanup was 50 mins.
Now the good part- noticed a decrease in buffeting at interstate speeds and a decrease in "floating on "washboard road surfaces.
Movement when stepping into the cabin is now negligible. Great Product!

2015 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter

I installed both the front ( SSF-106-40-47) and rear (SSR-338-47) SumoSpring suspension enhancement devices on my 2015 Winnebago View which is on a Mercedes Benz Sprinter chassis. The vehicle is a bit top heavy and cross winds made the coach sway back and forth as did entering and leaving driveways and cornering on sharp curves. At times, this was scary and I was afraid it would lose control. I had a professional body shop install these for me for a very reasonable price, and upon leaving their shop, I felt the difference immediately. When I saw the original equipment pieces, I thought they were a joke. These new items touch the suspension at all times on the rear and are only 1/2" away from contact on the front. This has been a slightly over $400 investment in driving safety and is worth every cent. I literally said "WOW" out loud as I entered the freeway ramp: minimal sway with a good feeling of control. I highly recommend these devices.

by:
2016 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter

typical of many installations, the first side took 45 minutes, the second took about 8! I used 4" C clamp to compress the OEM bump stop laterally and that made it very easy to remove. Use LOTS of soap to aid in installation of Sumo Spring into nesting bracket. First impressions are favourable. Sway over curbs in parking lots significantly reduced and unit is much more stable at rest while walking inside. Took it on a short test ride and you can feel the difference but did not have top deal with crosswinds or semis, long term hard to tell. This is a low cost, high value upgrade to my Mercedes Sprinter RV

by:
2007 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter

08 Winnebago View on an 07 Sprinter chassis. To reduce the side-to-side rocking that is inherent in this tall, narrow, heavy vehicle, I decided to try the Sumo SSR-335-47's on the rear bumpstops. Using the vehicle bottle jack, I raised the rear tires almost off the ground, one side at at time, to provide enough room to fit the Sumos into place. The old bumpstops simply pop out with force from a couple of screwdrivers, and the Sumos simply slide into the existing brackets. The fit is precise and snug. I put soapy water on the brackets and applied a bit of force to wedge the Sumos into place. It's that simple. The difference is pronounced, with significantly less rocking over minor road undulations. I'm impressed with this product, and wish I'd done this simple modification long ago.

by:

The Sumo Springs significantly reduced the roll in my class B rv. They also assist with reducing the roll impact of wind while at higher speeds. I have suitable jacks and jack stands and these were easy for me to install. There was an on line video on installing them which was helpful.

by:

Ride quality and stability greatly improved. My wife loves this mod to our RV. And it was simple to installed especially with a hydraulic leveling system already on the RV. Another reason for getting these were for more ground clearance or the leveling pads. Great purchase on many levels.

by:
2008 Winnebago View Motorhome

I ordered these, hoping they would smooth our ride a little. They arrived today at noon. By 3 PM, they were installed. Test drive was great. The old rubber stops that MB puts on are worthless in my opinion. They don't even come into play until you have hit a pothole or something that forces the shock to compress. As a result, you feel a pretty solid clunk. These Sumo Springs are always in contact with the axle providing support. A much better design.
Installation did require removal of the wheels so I used it as an opportunity to check my rear brake pads. Bonus!

by:
2015 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter

These Sumo Springs were recommended by a couple of others on an RV forum (3500 Sprinter chassis) I subscribe to. They were shipped and arrived in a timely manner. I had them installed at a local shop today (only took them 15 minutes - I most likely could have done it myself but opted not to). At this point, just driving into and out of a couple of shopping areas, the rear "thrashing about" when one thinks all the glassware is about to come flying out of the cabinets is greatly reduced.

by:
2014 Chevrolet Silverado 3500

I have a 2014 Winnebago View on a Mercedes 3500 chassis. Installed these replacement bump stops along with a Hellwig sway bar. First, they really are as easy to install as the instructions suggest. The most difficult part was figuring out how to get the floor jack high enough.
Second, after these two minor upgrades that took about 2 hours to install, I can not believe how well the coach handles now. Unbelievable improvement for little $$$ and easy installation.
I would recommend to anyone.
etrailer has always been super easy to work with on top of the products, I initially ordered the wrong bump stops (2500), easily exchanged for the proper items.

by:
2013 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 3500

bumpers act as designed, coupled with front and back sway bars they make up a good correction to the rock and roll of the Mercedes 3500

by:
Mercedes-Benz Sprinter

90-95% improvement road sway, rocking without affecting ride (doesn't feel any rougher) '14 mercedes sprinter 24b solera.
10 min job after jacking, blocking rig.
Easy to remove with rubber mallet.
Slips right back in place.
Definite improvement.

by:
2014 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter

After installing the rear Sumo Springs I purchased from etrailer, I did a test drive and immediately felt an improvement in side-to-side sway. This is a great product and, as usual, etrailer customer support is as good as the products they sell.

If you have sagging when using the GearSpace 34 # HGK826 on your 2022 Mercedes Sprinter 3500, the first thing to do is to make sure that you are abiding by the weight capacity of the carrier and the hitch itself. The carrier has a weight capacity of 300 pounds, so it is important to make sure that you are not overloading the carrier. Secondly, it is important that you don't overload the hitch itself.
